Abu Hurerah Giri
M.Sc. Chemistry (JMI) | Chemistry Faculty
Abu Hurerah Giri is a chemistry educator, aspiring organic chemist, and academic mentor with a strong foundation in organic, inorganic and physical chemistry. He has been associated with MEER SIR ACADEMY since 2025 as a part time teacher, where he contributes to student learning through concept-focused and examination-oriented chemistry teaching.
He is pursuing his M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, where he has demonstrated strong academic performance with a final grade of 8.51. He previously completed his B.Sc. (Hons.) in Chemistry from Aligarh Muslim University, building a solid foundation in chemical sciences and laboratory-based research.
Teaching & Academic Experience
Since July 2024, Abu Hurerah Giri has been working as a part-time Chemistry Teacher, teaching students across different academic and competitive examination requirements. His teaching approach focuses on simplifying complex chemical concepts, strengthening fundamentals and developing problem-solving abilities.
He has a strong command of Organic, Inorganic and Physical Chemistry and prepares students for board and competitive examinations through structured lessons, conceptual explanations and systematic practice.
Prior to this, he worked as a Subject Matter Expert with Chegg India, where he solved advanced chemistry problems and prepared detailed academic explanations covering Organic, Inorganic and Physical Chemistry. This experience further strengthened his ability to communicate complicated scientific concepts with accuracy and clarity.
Research & Specialization
Abu Hurerah has developed a particular interest in organic synthesis, heterocyclic chemistry, medicinal chemistry and structure-based drug design. His master’s research project focused on the synthesis, characterization and in-silico evaluation of novel thiophene–thiadiazole benzamide hybrids targeting Anaplastic Lymphoma Kinase (ALK).
Through this research, he gained experience in molecular docking, structure–activity relationship (SAR) analysis, ADMET assessment, lead optimization and spectroscopic characterization using ¹H and ¹³C NMR. His work reflects his interest in connecting synthetic organic chemistry with modern approaches to therapeutic discovery.
Academic Excellence
His academic and research achievements include receiving the Best Master’s Thesis Presentation Award from Jamia Millia Islamia in May 2026. The award recognized his research quality, scientific communication, presentation skills and academic excellence.
He has also undertaken advanced learning in medicinal chemistry, drug design, molecular spectroscopy, scientific writing and modern drug discovery, including courses associated with institutions and organizations such as Stanford University, University of Manchester, University of California San Diego, SPARC and Novartis.
Teaching Philosophy
As an educator, Abu Hurerah believes that chemistry becomes easier when students understand the logic behind reactions and concepts rather than relying only on memorization. He emphasizes conceptual clarity, visualization, problem-solving and systematic examination preparation.
At MEER SIR ACADEMY, he aims to help students develop a strong foundation in chemistry while building the confidence required for school, board and competitive examinations.
